with Youth Ambassadors of the 41st SSEAYP2014

apanese Country Program of SSEAYP2014 was successfully implemented on Oct 29 – Nov 7, 2014.  315 Participating Youths (PYs) from Japan and 10 ASEAN nations, led by 11 National Leaders (NLs) from respective countries, assembled in Tokyo on Oct 29. 

After participating the Inauguration Ceremony and Welcome Reception, they were divided into 11 different groups with mixed nationalities and fostered friendship with local Japanese people through various interaction activities.  When they returned Tokyo, "Japan-ASEAN Youth Leaders Summit" with the theme of "Youth Participation in Social Activities: How can you contribute in creating better society towards 2020?" took place with 94 Japanese Local Youths (LYs). 

SSEAYP is surely one of the biggest international youth exchange program in Japan and ASEAEN nations.  It could be said that young ambassadors were born to develop their leadership for changes of our region and future.  Their journey will continue next 40 more days on board and in ASEAN port of call countries till they return home on December 17.

National Leaders Meeting of the 41st SSEAYP2014

The National Leaders (NL) meeting of SSEAYP2014 and the first Cruise Operating Committee (COC) meeting were held in Japan on September 16-19, 2014.

<the 1st COC meeting: NLs shared their ideas and visions of SSEAYP2014>

In their discussion on Sep 17-18, they talked that the word "RESPONSIBILITY" should be the symbolic word that embodies the ideals, principles and personality of the 41st SSEAYP.  The concept of "Responsibility" can be interpreted and integrated in many occasions: Responsibility with Friendship, Responsibility with Consequences, Responsibility for the Future, etc.,

They made a consensus that NLs will work as a team and shall work hard for ALL PYs regardless of contingent, SGs, sub-committees etc.,

On Sep 19, they flew back to their countries for their final preparation and promised each other to come back again with their own PYs on October 29, 2014.

Facilitators Meeting 2014 in Tokyo!

Facilitators of SSEAYP2014 gathered in Tokyo on Aug 11-14.

In the meeting, they shared ideas of discussion program on board and discussed about
how to create an interesting learning environment for PYs.  The meeting also helped
the Facilitators recognize their role to inspire the PYs. 

Through discussion program, the PYs are expected to learn as much as possible and create
proper mindsets with practical knowledge towards social contribution activities, so that they
could put their ideas into action as Post-Program Activity.
